The magnet force displays are for displaying magnetic forces. That includes hanging them on the wall, setting them on a shelf, desk, or some other surface. They display how the magnets push each other apart with an invisible force while also holding each other together with the opposite force. When considering how magnetism works, whether molecular or something undiscovered it is a mysterious thing to look at. You can see that when you hold them vertically the measurable force is evident because of the different distances they are apart.
